On Tuesday night, I had the honor of going to the airport with a family to meet their daughter, adopted from Korea, for the first time. I knew the minute that I took this picture that no matter what else I captured that night or the rest of this week, this would be my 52 | 12 image. This is Claire looking through the window as the plane that her baby girl was on pulled up to the gate.
She’d been dreaming and praying for this moment for the last twenty-seven months. I think her face says it all.
LynneOh my gosh. I can’t imagine that moment. The emotion….wow. You captured this beautifully. What an honor to share this with them. Congratulations to the new family <3
ChristiBreathtaking! I love it!
MeganAmazing, Sarah, what a fabulous moment you captured!
NancyWow! Love so pure, it overwhelms.
Carol HeringWhat a reflection of happiness. I’m sure her daughter will cherish this picture when she gets older and understands her Mother’s anticipation of this special event. You can see the love in her face… in the window. Great picture, Sarah!
carey PowerI can’t stop looking at this photo. I see the lifetime of love and joy ahead of them and I cry every time. I hope that their first days and weeks are as magical as this photo.
Jonathan J. BatesWhen one gets to see their child for the first time, life truly begins. Being a mother or a father is the greatest gift that life can truly bestow on us. Its a beautiful picture that reminds me of being a kid waiting for santa claus. Congratulations, and a fantastic job. 🙂
StacyWhat amazing images! You captured so beautifully the emotions of such an important day!
