Introducing Just Born Sessions!

Just Born SessionsJust Born Sessions are something that I’ve wanted to do for a while and I’m so excited to finally be offering them!  As a mother of three I wish that someone (other than me) had been there to take beautiful pictures of my babies when they were as little as they would ever be.  Instead, I have what most of us have. Dark and out of focus images, images of a baby who definitely wasn’t as red or yellow as he looks in the pictures and if it’s an image of me, it was probably taken from a less than flattering angle.  They’re better than not having anything but not as special as the moments that they represent.

What does a Just Born Session include?

When you book a Just Born Session, I will come to Beverly Hospital or the North Shore Birth Center* within hours or a day (you decide!) of your delivery and photograph your family.  We’ll spend about 30 minutes together and in that time I will take beautiful images of your new baby alone, with you and even with siblings.  Within 24 hours of your session, I will deliver a password protected online gallery with 15-20 images in it.  Your session fee of $400 includes ten high resolution digital files  and an 8×8 press printed album with the images that you purchase.  If you want all of the images in your gallery, they can be purchased for an additional $250.  Within a few hours of selecting your images, I will send you a digital album that you can install as an app on your mobile devices and share with all your family and friends on Facebook or via email or text.  Your printed album will take about two weeks to deliver but it’s possible for you to have, enjoy and be sharing your images while you’re still in the hospital!

Gift Certificates for Just Born Sessions are available.  Please contact me if you’d like to purchase one for a special mom to be!

Additional albums may be purchased for $150 each.

*Families delivering at other hospitals may book a Just Born Session for an additional fee.  Fee is determined by location.

my sister | Massachusetts birth photographer

I will never forget the day that my sister Michelle caught me outside of the high school cafeteria wearing her shoes and demanded that I take them off and give them back to her. I smile when I think about how I used to fall asleep while she was talking to me at night and wake up an hour later to the sound of her still talking. I’ll never forget how beautifully she sang at my wedding or that she accidentally changed a few words to the song and made everyone laugh. I’ll always remember how she’d beat on her chest and turn into wild woman when she was mad at me. I can close my eyes and picture the two of us giggling and jumping on our beds in Wonder Woman underoos and roller skating up and down the side walk in front of our house. I laugh when I think about how important sitting in the front seat was to her when we were little; she’d call it days before long trips and often went and sat in the car hours before we were ready to leave. She went through an alternative stage in high school and dyed her hair blue which was very ironic to me considering how mad she was when I accidentally dyed her hair pink when she was in fifth grade. I can’t drink ginger ale without hearing her singing “I’m making my move, to Canada Dry” (she sang that commercial constantly in 1988). She has an amazing voice and I have always been a little envious of it. She was my maid of honor and I was hers. We’re very different in so may ways, but I love her dearly and she is my best, always and forever friend. This summer, I got to photograph the home birth of her baby girl, Gretchen. I don’t have words to describe how amazing it was to be there but I can tell you, that I’ve tucked it away in my heart and mind and will never, ever, forget it. Congratulations, Michelle, Gil, Caeden and Levi and welcome to the family, Gretchen!

You are one very special, very loved and very lucky little girl.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl | Massachusetts birth Photography

My dear friends Clarissa and Jesee had a beautiful baby girl tonight. I was honored to get to spend some time with them just two hours after she was born! Baby K-you are one lucky little girl. Your mommy and daddy are two of the most special people I know.

I can’t wait to watch you grow and see who you become.
