Winter Wonderland | Boston Family Photographer

Who says you need warm weather and sunshine for a family photo session?  I took these last weekend while I was visiting my sister and her family in the Berkshires.

Don’t they make you want to bundle up and have your picture taken?

Daredevil BLISS

I resisted the urge to convert this to black and white to try to hide the mess in our family room but decided that the mess is part of the story.  Josh will be 16 months old this week.  He stood up and walked a few days before turning 10 months old and hasn’t sat down since.

He’s into everything and has yet to find a toy that he cannot climb.  You should see him use Gracie’s wooden coffee pot as a stool.   He’s covered in bumps and bruises but they don’t seem to phase him.  He hits the ground, bounces and gets right back up.  I love my little daredevil.

Pig Pile BLISS

I love watching them play this way.  I have so many memories of wrestling with my dad on the living room floor and it makes me happy to know that someday, while they’re rolling around on the floor with their kids, they’ll think back to this night and smile.

One of those days BLISS

I’m giggling as I post this because I can’t help but wonder how many times I’ll post a picture of one of my kids sleeping this year.  Today was just one of those days.  It started this morning when I turned the faucet on to rinse out a glass and stuck my cell phone under the water instead.

 🙂  For real.

I didn’t bother to take any pictures  today because we had plans to spend the evening with friends from college that we hadn’t seen in years.  I had a shot list and all kinds of “bliss” in my head.  Unfortunately, I forgot to put a memory card in my camera and wasn’t able to take a single picture.  So now we’re home.  My house is a mess and my kids are overtired and for day 15 or my Ordinary Bliss project, instead of seeing my old friends and our twelve children playing together, I present Grace sleeping.

It’s all good.

Stuck in a stool BLISS

I’m going to let you all in on a secret.  I’m a terrible mom.  When my kids get into trouble, instead of helping them, I laugh and take pictures.  I think it builds character (and gives me the best pictures in the world to make slideshows to share with their very best friends at their rehearsal dinners 20 or 30 years from now).  Don’t you wish the worst thing that could happen to

you was getting trapped in a bar stool?
