I do have other kids.

However, lately whenever I attempt to take their picture it turns out something like this. Or worse.

As people watch me photograph their children, they often comment that I’m the most incredibly patient person that they’ve ever met. I smile and nod but inside I’m laughing. The truth is, when it comes to taking their pictures, I’m no more patient with my kids than you are with yours. So I go for the easy target. Josh. He turned eight months old yesterday and can’t quite get away from me yet. I’m also his favorite person in the world and his face lights up every time he sees me.

Whoohoo! | North Shore senior photographer

Esther and I have been planning this session for about a year and had so much fun finally getting to do it. There were gale force winds and the sky was more than a little ominous looking when we arrived at Lynch Park. If anyone else had been out that day, I’m sure that we would have gotten more than a few looks as Esther walked through the park in full regalia.

The grass was wet, I got soaked and may or may not have had an incident involving dog poop….and we got this shot, which says it all so much better than I can.

Congratulations Esther! I’m so happy that you are finally done and look forward to seeing what you fill your days with now that you have mastered Hebrew and Greek, snuck wine into the maternity ward for your favorite photographer and said a Protestant blessing as you watched her son endure the “circumstraint”. You’re the best chaplain that I’ve ever met.

Another baby boy! | Salem MA Newborn Photographer

Little N reminded me so much of Josh. He just LOVED his mom and was happiest when she was holding him. He was incredibly alert, watched me like a little hawk and I swear, he managed to keep one eye on his mother at all times.

I absolutely love this shot. It was a real moment between them and I can almost here N’s mother Sarah singing when I look at it.

She got him to sleep, but can you see how he’s peeking out of his right eye, just a little
